My Birthday Celebrations.

09 Nov

This birthday saw me reach the grand old age of 38!! Not too bad I guess. Birthdays seem to be less celebrated as you get older, so I didn’t hold out any grand hopes for this day, especially as it fell on a Monday, and I didn’t have a day off work.

However, this is how my day played out. I had to leave the house at 8a.m, so had already decided not to open any cards or gifts before I left. I couldn’t help but open one card though. So, I opened the card my Husband had got me. It was a good start. This is the card he got me:

I work in a school for special needs children (mainly Autistic). When I arrived the girls who I work with wished me a happy birthday and I got on with the day. At lunchtime, I received some lovely gifts from my friends and nice cards. Some ever so cosy pj’s, a nice bottle of Prosecco and some sparkly lovely scented bubble bath. I saw my Friday night planned already!!

The children noticed my birthday bag and one asked if it was my birthday and how old I was!! I knew this was a dangerous question, but I asked anyway:

How old do you think I am?……..
– 53!!!!!
– 18!!!! …….. OK, so at least I can take a happy medium from those answers! It did make me chuckle though. ♥

So, eventually it was home time and time to open cards, presents and do something nice with my Husband. I have to say, I was completely spoilt with all the lovely gifts received.

I had asked for a camera and a sandwich toaster machine. I got 3 sets of pj’s, a box of Milk Tray, shoes, bubble bath, a wallet, a boots voucher, a whisking machine….. and the camera and toasty machine I had asked for. I felt lucky and loved. Also lots of nice cards.

As you might know if you follow me (if you don’t, please do 😉  ), my Husband is suffering from severe food allergies and we are still working out what he can and can’t eat. We have been to Brewers Fayre before and they have an allergy file, which tells of all the allergies, potential allergies in every part of every meal. So, this is where we went. I had a chicken tikka masala, with naan, poppadum and mango chutney. It was amazing, especially because I don’t eat this at home because Hubby can’t. Delicious. Hubby had a steak and chips with Dianne sauce. It was delicious and caused no problems. Yippee!!!!

After eating, we headed home and I spoke to my family on the phone to tell them about my day and to thank them for their lovely gifts and card. My family don’t live nearby so it was good to speak to them even though I wasn’t able to see them.

My Mum was quite creative with her card to me. It came with a badge and it was originally made for a 3 year old. have a look at her creativity here:

So, that’s me 38 and a whole another year until my next birthday. That’s ok, I’m in no rush to reach 39!  😉

I hope you enjoyed this post, if you know of any other restaurants that have allergy files for their meals, I would be very grateful to hear of them. Let me know also how you spent your last birthday, or how you intend to spend your next. I would love to hear from you.

Thanks for reading, and until next time, Goodbye.

Aww! Sorry I missed your birthday. But ooh I love the card your mum got you. HAHA. My mum tried to give me one of those for my last birthday (my 28th) but as much as I love Disney and all things like that, I was like “come on! Really? Mother!” lol Also, I’d seen the card lying about (she’s terrible at hiding things) so yeah…she had to get a new one. >_<

Nando’s is great for allergy sufferers. My MIL has celiac’s disease and most Nando’s food, surprisingly is gluten free. They also have a big book with all the food info and great charts to show what’s in each meal.

Wow, that’s unexpected. I wouldn’t have expected Nando’s to be like that. That’s great news though, I will have to find out where my nearest one is.
      Thank you.
