Book Review: The Weekend Spa Break by Anne John- Ligali. Plus an amazing #Giveaway!

I am very happy today to share with you my review for the beautiful book that is Part 2 of the online friendship books by Anne John-Ligali. ‘The Weekend Spa Break’, was a joy to read. Thank you to Rachel from Rararesources for giving me the opportunity for my spot on this tour, and to Author, Anne John-Ligali and Rachel for my copy of the book.

You can visit all the other tour hosts on these days. There is also a wonderful giveaway, so keep reading and you could be a lucky winner of something special.

After finally meeting in person at the publishing party of the season, Constance and Estelle are determined not to let their friendship return to mere virtual champagne bottles and uploaded pictures of food.
It’s been a busy year, and Constance feels it’s time to reward herself with the spa break Estelle gave her for Christmas. Naturally, Constance wouldn’t dream of taking anyone other than Estelle, and this will provide the perfect opportunity to bond with her new chum.
As the excited pair spend some quality time together, they realise it’s not just writing books they have in common, but something that goes much deeper. After a few Jacuzzi sessions, facials, pedicures, and a massage by sexy Senior Therapist, Julio, everything seems to be peachy until an unexpected visitor turns Constance’s weekend of bliss … on its head.

A two-day spa break.

Sparkling water on tap.

And the perfect massage.

But who’s rubbing who up the wrong way?

My Thoughts:

After reading part 1 of the online friendship series by this author, I was keen to learn what happened next. The Weekend Spa Break brings Constance and Estelle on a weekend that they will both remember.

The book has a few surprises for the reader and for the characters. There was more to this book than I was expecting and it was really good to see a more in-depth version of the characters.

I loved the online parts of the story. Most of us have ‘ online lives’, and it was interesting to see how Constance and Estelle brought the two together. I loved the Instagram updates from the girls and from the outer characters. There are reminders in this book of the advantages and disadvantages of showing ourselves online.

This book is very current and the author showed a great deal of knowledge in one particular theme that is close to my heart. I won’t say what as it will be a spoiler, but let me tell you it brought Constance and Estelle closer too.

Brilliant read and I hope there will be a part 3 of the online friendship stories.

To mark the release of part 2 in the friendship series, I’m giving away a Sanctuary Spa gift, and a signed, printed and binded copy of The Weekend Spa Break to one lucky winner. There are no physical copies at present, so this is a special prize.

All you have to do to enter is go to Anne’s twitter page, and retweet the pinned tweet, which will say GIVEAWAY.

Entered on twitter. I am curious and would love to read this. It reminds me my friend. She called me just 2 weeks ago and talked about the idea to go together to the spa for prolonged weekend 🙂 Lubka

Good luck with the giveaway, I would love to win it too. Spa time with friends are the perfect relaxing time to catch up. There were many other not so relaxing things that happened to the girls, which made the read more exciting. Thanks for your comments.

I also think the online bits would be the most interesting parts for me. I for sure spend too much time on-line!

It’s such a big part of life for many isn’t it (being online). I love the fact that whatever happens brings Constance and Estelle closer together – unusual in a story! Thank you for linking with us on Talk of the Town. x
